Our complete itinerary for your consideration: Our Journey begins in Naples NAP Airport Code with an included Meet & Greet with Arrival Transfer to Sorrento, enjoy 3 days and nights where the Song of the Siren first became famous! Then you're off to the Sicilian Coast with Taormina your home for 4 days and nights. The following itinerary features our Deluxe or Classic hotels as described. DAY 1: SORRENTO

Your Now Journey experience begins upon arrival to the Naples NAP Airport. Now Journey's approach to touring the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento Peninsula is unique: we combine local expert Italian Guides along with Deluxe or Classic Hotels for the perfect balance of activity, leisure time and experience, so you can truly soak up all that is Italy.

Today's Adventure: Private Boating Adventure to Capri

Today enjoy our amazing Journey to the Isle of Capri.

Enjoy our exceptional experience departing this morning and enjoy a boat trip to the Isle of Capri to enjoy free time on the Island. Then continue with our circumnavigation of the island, enjoy some time for swimming (towel service and refreshments onboard) and then we make our way back to Sorrento.

DAY 3: SORRENTO AT LEISURE

This morning you will be picked up and transferred to the airport in Naples for the flight to Catania, Sicily. Upon arrival we will transfer to the magical sea town of Taormina. Fall in love with this picturesque town overlooking the sea with views of Mount Etna captivating you from the distance.

Today's Adventure: Guided Tour of Taormina

Meet our Local Guide and enjoy a captivating morning walking tour of Taormina, where the cobblestone streets and historic charm come alive. Begin at the ancient Greek Theater, absorbing panoramic views of Mount Etna and the azure Ionian Sea, then meander through the quaint alleys of the Old Town, adorned with vibrant bougainvillea and medieval architecture. Explore iconic landmarks like the Piazza IX Aprile, adorned with a striking clock tower, and immerse yourself in the rich history and enchanting atmosphere that defines this Sicilian gem.

After a guided morning, enjoy the balance of the afternoon and evening at your leisure.

DAY 6: LOCAL TOUR & TASTING THE MOUNTAIN

This morning meet our driver guide and then ascend to Mount Etna where we will enjoy the views and landscapes while we head to our special winery. Our winery is the highest winery allowed on Mount Etna! This family owned vineyard will provide your senses and heart with exhilaration. Enjoy tastings paired with delicious morsels and then learn about the winery in a special tour before we head back to Taormina for the balance of the day at your leisure.

DAY 7: DAY AT LEISURE

Today's Adventure: Enjoying Taormina

Enjoy today by relaxing by the pool or local beach, exploring the shops, or by choosing one of following options (inquire for pricing):

How active are Journey Tours?

Our pace for sightseeing is leisurely with ample opportunity to stop and even opt out should a guest desire to do so. We walk about 45 to 90 minutes per day on our sightseeing tours on average.

What amount of leisure time is there on a Journey Tour?

Yes, Journey features a Slow Travel concept on most of our trips with most sightseeing occurring in the mornings and the afternoons at leisure.

What is the average Journey guest like? What kind of people travel on a Journey tour?

Journey's trips are designed to engage people of all ages and backgrounds, but the 'average' Journey guest is not average at all: they enjoy interesting excursions, learning about history and culture, and above all enjoy having fun while on tour. Experiencing foreign lands bring with it a host of amazing and sometimes challenging experiences, so a great attitude is essential for the Journey guest and the Modern Traveler!

Are guided tours worth it in Italy?

The value of a trip to Italy can be weighed in how much time is spent looking for the independently booked experience, entrance, hotel or activity versus having the Now Journey Tour Captain walk you directly to the next activity or experience — there is no comparison in how much time, energy and value exists in a Now Journey small group tour. While you can make friends on trains and through experiences, there's no better way to see and experience Italy than with the help of a Now Journey Tour Captain.

What is considered a small group tour?

We consider a small group tour is composed of 3 to 16 guests as small group communication tends to stagnate above 16 guests. Many mainstream tour operators like to promote a small group is up to 24 or 36 travelers; we do not subscribe to this for obvious reasons.

How much does a trip to Italy cost?

The average cost of a mainstream, large group 12-day tour to Italy is around $4,000 per person not including airfare, and is based on large motorcoach travel with many optionals promoted while on tour. Now Journey does not subscribe to this style of travel and features Classic and Deluxe hotel packages which vary in cost based on the number of travel days. A Now Journey 10-day tour in Classic will rund around $6,500 per person.

What is the best time to visit Italy?

Spring and Fall are often quoted as the best times to visit Italy. We believe late April, May and early June along with early September through the middle of October as the best times to visit Italy in terms of weather and crowd volumes. Summer months like June, July and August tend to have very warm temps and lots of crowds. The least expensive months to visit Italy are November through February.

How many days do I need in Italy?

We recommend around 10 days with up to 14 days on the high end.

How far in advance should I plan a trip to Italy?

Most Europeans begin booking vacations in January for late summer (August) trips — you should try and book before this time in order to find available lodging and experiences.
