Our complete itinerary for your consideration: Our Journey begins in Venice on Isola San Marco with an included Meet & Greet with Arrival Transfer over the lagoon of Venice, enjoy 3 days and nights in this beautiful and exotic city. Then you're off to Rome —  where a thousand roads always lead —  enjoy 3 nights in the Eternal City. The following itinerary features our Deluxe or Classic hotels as described. Hotel rooms can be upgraded to higher categories.

DAY 1: WELCOME TO VENICE

Your Now Journey experience begins upon arrival to Marco Polo Airport in Venice. Now Journey's approach to touring Venice is unique: we combine local expert Italian Guides along with Deluxe or Classic Hotels for the perfect balance of activity, leisure time and experience, so you can truly soak up all that is Italy.

Our Discovery Walk is a hallmark of the Now Journey style of traveling when exploring new destinations —  a brief orientation walk with our Now Journey Local Host (not to be confused with our immersive Sightseeing Tour that occurs the next day with our licensed expert Italian Guide). In Venice we will take in the beautiful sights of Piazza San Marco, the "Campanile" or clock tower, the Grand Canal and more.

DAY 2: DISCOVERING VENICEVenice Canal

Sightseeing IconToday's Adventure: Private Sightseeing in Venice

Enjoy our Private adventure through this dramatic and historic port city after-hours when there are no crowds. We begin in private water taxi as we make our way through the romantic canals of Venice and arrive at the Doges' Palace.

Learn of Venice's fascinating and colorful past, including everything from Napoleon to Casanova. Venice's character springs to life as we make our way through her nooks and crannies and mysterious alley ways.

Journey's professional local guide provides expert commentary as we enter the fascinating and colorful Basilica San Marco (St. Mark's Basilica). Then we go 'back in time' with our visit to the Doge's Palace, the Old Prison (and yes, you will learn about the gentleman Casanova), and the famous Bridge of Sighs.

Special sightseeing today includes:

  • Private Boat Tour: We begin in our own private boat through the canals of Venice
  • Basilica San Marco: Enjoy the beautiful mosaics and how they reflect and dance in the light. Our Guide "paints the picture" of the history and opulence that is the Basilica San Marco prior to entering. Then enjoy the terrace and the amazing views.
  • Enjoy included admission/entrance to Museo Correr, Museo Archeologico Nazionale and Monumental Rooms of the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana at your leisure.

Gondola IconSpecial Adventure: Gondola Experience with Serenade!

Later today, just before sunset enjoy our included Gondola ride through the canals of Venice with our professional musicians to make the ambiance perfect. On occasion inclement weather will prevent the gondola ride. In this scenario an alternate activity will be substituted later in the tour.

DAY 3: VENICE

Spend your day at leisure in the enchanting city of Venice, embracing its timeless charm and vibrant atmosphere. Whether you prefer to explore at your own pace or dive into curated experiences, here are some optional ideas to inspire your adventure:

  • Visit Murano and Burano: Embark on a half-day excursion to the nearby islands, famous for Murano glassblowing and Burano’s colorful homes and intricate lace-making traditions.

DAY 4: ARRIVING THE EMPIRE OF ROMEPantheon in Rome, Italy

As you make your way to Rome onboard the high-speed Italian train, we find ourselves going back in time as our surroundings begin to slowly turn into the very center of ancient Rome and your arrival at Rome Termini Train Station.

Meet our driver and transfer the short distance to our hotel and check in. The locations of our hotels in Rome are within a minute or so walk of the incredible Pantheon.

We check-in, freshen up and then meet for our Discovery Walk.

Orientation Walk IconDiscovery Walk: Rome

You will meet our Rome City Host for a walk through the very heart of Old Rome.

We begin our exploration of Rome beginning with an elephant and continue to immerse ourselves in over 2000 years of history of the 'Empire. We enter the amazing Pantheon and learn of its interesting history and continue our walk to soak up Piazza Navona, once a site where mock naval battles were held. We continue with our Discovery Walk as we pass through Campo de Fiore (field of flowers) - do you know the name of the figure whose likeness is crafted in the statue in this amazing campo? We walk by Largo di Torre Argentina and learn of Julius Caesar's fate. We will also see a village of modern Roman felines.

Tonight you will enjoy a special evening tour of Rome. You will see ancient elements intertwined perfectly with present-day apartment buildings, and discover how the modern Romans have intertwined their vast history into present-day experience.

We're making our way to the Colosseum and Roman Forum, the town center of the Roman Empire, for our special access, in-depth touring experience, complete with admissions.

  • Colosseo: Flavian's amphitheater known popularly as the Colosseum. Admission and Guided Tour of the Colosseum: Heart of The Empire. Enjoy Skip-the-Line entrance.
