This morning, discover the quieter and more authentic side of the Albanian Riviera as your Now Journey Tour Captain leads a relaxed exploration through the stone lanes of historic Old Dhërmi.
Overlooking the Ionian Sea, this timeless hillside village is filled with small Orthodox churches, blue-domed viewpoints, flower-lined pathways, and traces of Albania’s rich coastal heritage. Along the way, we’ll pause for coffee and a light local pastry tasting with beautiful sea views before continuing toward the peaceful Monastery of St. Mary.

Today's Adventure: Scenic Journey to Berat
After a relaxed morning along the Albanian Riviera, we depart the sparkling coastline of Dhërmi and begin our scenic journey inland toward the historic city of Berat.
The drive itself becomes part of the experience as dramatic coastal landscapes gradually give way to rolling hills, olive groves, river valleys, and rural Albanian countryside — revealing a quieter and deeply authentic side of the country rarely experienced by larger tour groups.
Along the way, we may pause for photographs, coffee, or a leisurely local lunch depending on the day’s rhythm and discoveries.
By afternoon, we arrive in beautiful Berat, a World Heritage city often called the “City of a Thousand Windows,” where white Ottoman homes climb the hillsides beneath its ancient castle.
This evening, settle into the relaxed atmosphere of one of Albania’s most soulful destinations as the next chapter of the journey begins.

Step into one of Albania’s most enchanting and historic settings during this thoughtfully paced exploration of Berat — often called the “City of a Thousand Windows.”
Your experience begins with a guided visit to the magnificent Berat Castle, a living fortress dramatically perched above the city and still home to residents, ancient churches, winding stone lanes, and sweeping panoramic views across the valley below.
Continue into the beautifully preserved Ottoman-era neighborhoods of Mangalem and Gorica, where white stone homes cascade down the hillsides and daily life still unfolds at a slower, more authentic rhythm.
