Chapter 1: Welcome to Kenya
Day 1: Welcome to Nairobi National Park
Nairobi International Airport
Upon arrival we will make our way to the Ololo Safari Lodge, owned and run by an Australian farming family. This lodge is about 45 minutes from the airprt and offers the warmth and comfort of a home with effortless style and personalized service.
The Masai Mara delivers classic safari scenery on a grand scale! The Mara is unsurpassed for game viewing, the big cat viewing is astounding. Lion, leopard and cheetah are all represented in excellent densities and it is not uncommon to have a cat-trick of seeing all three species in a single day. Our guides know many of the individual cats by name and focus on observing natural behavior.
Meet our Private Guides
In the Masai Mara Reserve, you'll have Ping and Peter as your private guides - they know the individual cats and their histories. The Mara is quite likely the most productive wildlife viewing area in all of Africa, and a superb location for serious wildlife viewing and photography. The area is unrivaled for sightings of big cats, has a great variety and quantity of species, and features dynamic scenery on a grand scale. You'll also visit the private Naboisho Conservancy. Here you can drive off-road, at night, walk and visit local villages. The camp has a stunning hilltop setting, and Ping and Peter will be your guides here as well.
