DAY 5: GOOD MORNING TUSCANY
Today's Adventure: Tuscan Glory
It's a great day to explore further into the Tuscan countryside. After breakfast this morning, we bid Arrivederci to Florence and travel in our comfortable micro-coach into the Tuscan countryside.
This morning we leave Florence and delve deep back into the heart of Tuscany. Our first stop is the hilltop village of Monteriggioni.
Monteriggioni conforms almost perfectly to the archetypal mental image most of us have of a walled Tuscan village. The walls and towers are virtually intact, and the visual effect from a distance is quite astonishing. Inside there is almost no traffic, making Monteriggioni a great place to walk and explore. The buildings inside the walls of Monteriggioni are for the most part original and very attractive.
