Insights on How Travel Takes Place in Today's World
Report from our travel in Fall 2021
SUCCESSFULLY TRAVEL DURING THE DELTA VARIANT
It is with immense satisfaction that we report to our current and future Journey guests that our travel during the time of the COVID-19 Delta Variant (fall 2021) occurred without issue. Journey's industry-standard Covid-19 protocols allowed our guests to enjoy Milan, Lake Como, Florence, Tuscany's many hill towns, Rome and the Amalfi Coast without any guest becoming infected.
OMICRON VARIANT AND END OF THE PANDEMIC: OF COVID TESTS, BORDER CONTROL AND GREEN PASSES
Equally satisfying is our report on how seamless and easy both the pre-tour required test and post-tour re-entry to the USA allowed our Journey guests a smooth travel experience. Additionally, while in country our guests were asked only at a few locations and museums for their "Green Pass," or in most cases the physical Vaccination Card. Some of our guests even had a literal, digital Green Pass app that served the same purpose. Masks were encouraged at most dining venues but once seated they were removed and deliciousness was served!
Larger cities such as London, Paris, Florence, and Rome were found to be slightly more organized as one would imagine when compared to smaller metros and villages, but the general feeling our guests experienced throughout Europe was one of ease, and a sense of being greatly welcomed by the locals.
PREPARE FOR WAR IN TIME OF PEACE
While our guests were not and are not going to war, thankfully, Journey's planning of travel safety protocols were taken very seriously in advance of our trips: with plans in place to deal with infections and other consequences we are pleased to report, thankfully to date, no Journey guest has been infected while on our trips. And we remain committed to respond and assist, per our policies, should we encounter any COVID-19 infections of our guests.
We are eagerly awaiting the demise of the pandemic — just like all of you — and there is great hope that more and more travelers will be able to become Journey guests in 2022 as the Omicron variant already appears to be subsiding (mid-January 2022).
